In the undergraduate program of the Department of Economics, it is aimed to provide the students the theoretical and analytical information that will enable efficient use of limited resources to meet human needs, to gain the ability to understand and analyze the problems that may arise in the application of production and distribution. Education at the undergraduate level is not only constructs a foundation for an academic career, but it also aims to train stuffs who can work as specialist researchers and managers at public and private sectors. The Department of Economics conducts training and research on issues related to the use of exhaustible resources in order to meet the needs of people in the most effective way, increasing these resources and distribution of goods and services produced. Those who wish to study in this area are expected to have academic ability and numerical thinking skills. In order to be successful, it is important to first of all to do research and love to work at management and administrative fields. This is the first condition to increase creativity. The curriculum of the Department of Economics is organized as a result of detailed examinations and it is arranged to enable graduates of this department to have the opportunity to be employed in all economic institutions and organizations in the country. It is provided services to our students in order to educate them as an economist who is conscious, honest, principled, considers the interests of the country and can manage national and international enterprises and can carrying our country to the place where it deserves in a new century. In the Department of Economics, duration of education is 4 years. In this department, besides basic economics courses, courses on management, law, business administration, statistics and international relations are also given. The aim of the courses is to provide students with a general knowledge and to develop the power of criticism and criticism. In addition to undergraduate education, the department also conducts master and docotorate studies within the Social Sciences Institute. The Bachelor’s Degree is given to the graduates of the department. Graduates are called as economists in the labor market. Graduates of the department can work as an specialist in State Planning Organization and Turkish Statistical Institute and as an inspector and researcher in various public institutions and banks. In addition, there are opportunities to work as "Independent Accountant and Financial Advisor".
